Second Nature Singing/Learning the basics of your instrument
Instructor: Patty Stephens
NM Jazz Workshop, 5500 Lomas Blvd. NE
8 Weeks: Thursdays June 7 -- July 26
6:30 pm -- 8:30 pm
Members/$135; General/$155 (includes $20 lab fee)
This class will explore the fundamentals of singing jazz. We will take time to see how your voice works and find what you need to get a stronger sound with more tone. This is a non-performance class. For those who are terrified of performance this is the class for you. For those of you who yearn to perform, this is the class for you. Great musicians return to the fundamentals every time they pick up their instrument or open their mouth to sing. Spend this time developing that second nature with your vocal instrument.
Patty Stephens is a member of the band “VINYL” and appears on the recently recorded CD, Bert Daltonʼs “The Brazil Project.” She teaches group and private lessons from her studio. Patty is developer and facilitator of “Song Spiral”, a program for families with infants and toddlers, that develops an awareness of community music making.
