In memory of David TenClay 1986-2020

Dave TenClay loved music throughout his life and saw it as his mission. At age 12, he joined the worship team at Chelwood Christian Reformed Church in Albuquerque and did two summer tours with the faith-based band, Carpenter’s Tools. David graduated from Eldorado High School where he was a member of the marching and concert bands as well as the bassist in the award-winning jazz band, Screamin’ Eagles.

After college, Dave moved to Des Moines, Iowa, joining the Westview Church worship band and giving guitar lessons. Dave loved composing songs and instrumentals and played multiple instruments including keyboard, mandolin, guitar, bass, drums and concertina. He adored his extended family and looked forward to times together in person and through social media. His goal in life was to “make a difference in the world” through his music and care for others.

Gone too soon, Dave left his mark on the world and all who knew him. The TenClay family have set up this fund to accept donations in his memory to support the Jazz Workshop's Empowerment Through Music "arts-in-social-services" program, providing free music education for the underserved young people Dave kept in his heart.

We encourage you to make a donation in Dave's name which will help support the South Valley Band Project.
